About The Founders

Mayumi Giacone

Mayumi, hailing from Japan's Nagoya countryside, has fostered a lifelong passion for Japanese traditional cooking and tea ceremonies, particularly Sencha do, since the age of three. Drawing from her roots, she advocates for locally sourced ingredients, notably excelling in the sourcing of ethically produced Japanese delicacies, including Miso. With expertise honed through years of immersion, Mayumi is dedicated to preserving culinary heritage and sharing the authentic flavors of Japan with the world.

Manuele Giacone

Manuele's journey through Japan since 2014 has been marked by encounters with Japanese teas, Miso, and locally farmed goods, igniting a profound appreciation for the country's culture and traditions. Motivated by a desire to support Japanese farming communities and preserve their heritage, he has embarked on a mission to introduce ethically sourced Japanese food to the UK market. This venture represents a heartfelt commitment to giving back to the families and traditions that have enriched his experiences in Japan.
